I don’t know what it was about the concept of facial oils, but it scared me. I think it’s because it seems really counter-intuitive to put oil on your face. Especially if some areas of your face are prone to oiliness anyway.
But now, I’ve overcome my scaredy cat tendencies, (like seriously how do I get through life?) and I’ve successfully incorporated oils into my skincare routine in two major ways.
I am obsessed with L’oreal’s Facial Cleansing Oil. I’ve tried other oil cleansers, but none match up to this beauty. I swear it’s the perfect formula; not too thick and not too thin.
I usually find that 3 pumps of this product does the trick and easily removes a full face of makeup. It literally just melts it away! It even removes tough waterproof mascara, which believe me is such a lifesaver. Because this is an oil based product, after using it I follow with a foaming cleanser to make sure all the product is removed. Because, if I learned anything from my high school science lessons it’s that oil and water don’t mix! It’s funny what sticks with you right?
In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to remove your makeup. And, if you’re an avid makeup wipe user (I get it, they are just so quick and easy) your skin will seriously thank you. I notice the difference massively whenever I go from using a facial oil to a wipe. When I use wipes, my skin just feels dry and clogged, but this facial oil completely changed the game for me. My skin feels healthier and my skin tone has evened out.
I 100% recommend this product!
Before you go to bed is the perfect time to apply an intensive oil treatment. My absolute favourite is the Green Keratin Q10 Plus E Oil Complex Night Elixir. This seriously does all sorts of wonderful stuff for your skin, and is suitable for all skin types. The Q10 and Vitamin E ingredients are chock full of antioxidants and is fab for conditioning your skin.
This product also combines a whole host of amazing oils: Rosehip, Jojoba, Argan, Neroli and Kakui oils. Honestly, before using this product I had barely heard of any of these oils. Some of them sound made up, but don’t worry, they’re not. Combined, these oils create the ultimate skin conditioning and moisture retaining product.
I started by only using this product once a week, and gradually increased my usage as my skin got used to it. But honestly, you’ll notice the difference after the first use. If you have dry skin, or maturing skin, this is definitely a must have product!
Do you use any facial oils? I’d be super interested to know if there are any great oils that i’m missing out on! Let me know in the comments!
