March Glossy Box Unboxed

March Glossy Box Unboxed

I love getting a monthly beauty treat in through the post, I swear my postman can always see the excitement in my face when he hands my Glossy Box over.

When I opened this months box, honestly, the smell was sensational!

One of the things I love about Glossy Box is the way they switch up the products in the box each month. I never feel like I’m getting the same type of products month after month. Also, they tailor your products to your particular colouring and skin type, so you are actually able to use all the products!

So, without further a-do, lets look at this months products!

  • Schwarzkopf Blonde Keratin Restore Bonding Shampoo (250ml: Fullsize)

Phew, that is the longest name in the world. But I will forgive Schwarzkopf because this is the source of that fabulous smell. For the past few weeks I have been living off shampoo samples so I’m so excited to finally have something full-size.

One of the best things about this shampoo is that it’s Sulfate free. Sulfates are basically detergents that are extremely good at doing their job, cleaning your hair and scalp. In fact, they are so good, they also have a tendency to strip away the hair’s natural oils , therefore drying it out and potentially leading to damage and split ends.

So, should you be using a Sulfate-free shampoo? If you colour your hair like me, then I would say yes. Sulfates can affect the your coloured hair by stripping out the colour along with the regular dirt. And if you colour your hair, it’s likely that it will be prone to dryness.

I have never used a Sulphate-free shampoo before, so I am very excited by this product. I’m hoping for a total hair transformation! Although that may be a bit much to ask. Expect a full review of this product soon.

  • Sleek Eye and Cheek Palette: All Day Soiree

The eye colours in this palette are lovely gold tones which are perfect for every day wear, they also seem quite pigmented which for me is essential. The glittery gold tones will be really flattering once we get to summer.

One of the highlights of this palettes are the peach blush tones. I’ve never really been one to use blush, but i’m excited to plat around with these. One of the peach tones is quite shiny, meaning that it will be great to use as a highlighter and even as an eyeshadow. The other is darker and has more of a matte finish (with a few sparkles thrown in for good measure) making it perfect to blend into the apples of your cheeks for a bit of colour.

The one thing I don’t like about this palette is the baby pink blush colour. Simply because for me it seems too light. Even though I’m have very fair skin, I just can’t see this colour as being flattering. As well as this the brushes are very small which wouldn’t be great for application.

Overall though, I think this is a great all-purpose palette which will be perfect for spring.

  • This Works: In Transit Camera Close up Primer (20ml)

I have heard so many great things about This Works and apparently this product is one of Victoria Beckham’s faves, so I’m expecting big things.

Primers are another one of those products where I have been living off samples, I just can’t seem to find a primer that I want to commit to enough to buy the full-size product. Alas I can’t afford the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream yet so I have to find something else.

This primer has a light, creamy consistency. It evens out my skin tone nicely and my makeup sits well on top. Overall I have no complaints about this product, but as of yet, it’s lacking the ‘wow’ factor for me.

  • Oolution Eye Love (15ml: Full-size)

This is this month’s Glossy Box ‘Discover’ product. This eye cream has a 100% natural formula, which is ideal for the uber sensitive skin around your eyes. It’s main effects are diminishing dark circles and puffiness because of it’s antioxidant rich formula.

The first thing I noticed when using this product was how cooling this formula was. My eyes felt super refreshed and hydrated immediately. I much prefer this product to the Skyn eye cream that I was using previously.

  • Crabtree and Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Cream (25g: Full-size)

For me, hand cream is one of those things that is such a ‘meh’ product. But, Crabtree and Evelyn is a great brand so I can’t really complain.

I don’t really have much to say about this product. It smells nice and it doesn’t make your hands feel greasy, all the things a good hand cream should do.

Overall, I’m pleased with this Glossy Box! It topped me up with some products that I really needed like primer and eye cream, and I am also pleased when I have a new palette in my life 😉
