May Glossy Box Unboxed

May Glossy Box Unboxed

I feel like I wasn’t as hyped for this month’s Glossy Box because I basically only just opened the last one. But, since I’m imposing much tighter restrictions on my spending, (again), it’s nice to get a few new products. Last month’s box had loads of amazing make-up products. And I am addicted to make-up as much as the next beauty blogger, but, every so often I do like to mix it up with some skincare too. The theme of this month’s box is Beauty Essentials, the classics that every woman needs in her beauty arsenal.

Ruby Blush

Now, I have never been a blush kinda gal. I was always under the impression that my natural, beetroot glow didn’t need any encouragement. I mean, why bring back to light the very thing you tried to conceal in the first place? But recently, I’ve felt like my skin has been looking a bit lacklustre and flat. So, for the first time in years, when I saw this blush I was, dare I say it, pleased.

It may seem like an exaggeration, and that’s partly because it is, but it felt like fate. In fact, it was biblical, all my prayers had been answered. Until that moment, it hadn’t crossed my mind that blush would be the answer to freshening up my makeup look. And once I tried this colour blush, good lord, I felt transformed. The coral colour is so cute, and suits my pale skin perfectly. It gives just a subtle hint of colour and freshness, without making you look too rosy. And, on top of all that, it blends out beautifully. This has definitely reignited my excitement towards blusher.

So, to cut a long, hyperbolic story short: great product, I love it.

Daily Concepts – Exfoliating Body Scrubber

Now that we are coming up to summer, and the weather in England is starting to perk up; it’s time to scrub the living daylights out of your body. I’m a big fan of exfoliating gloves, (you can buy them really cheap in Primark,) but often they seem really rough on my skin.

The beauty of this scrubber is that is has both a scratchy and a smooth sides. So, you can customise your exfoliating, and let the more sensitive areas of your body have a bit of a rest. Another cool thing about this scrubber is that the writing on the label fades once it’s time to replace it, so you don’t end up using a scrubber that’s filled with bacteria, (ew). You can tell that this product is really well made, and best of all, it’s cruelty free!

Dr. PAW PAW – Original Balm

So I had never heard of this balm until I received it in this Glossy Box, but apparently it’s a cult favourite among many beauty insiders. Essentially, it does everything. You can smother it over dry skin or lips, massage it into your cuticles, it even works taming fly-away hairs or soothing insect bites. This particular balm is the original clear version, but you can purchase it in peachy and red colours too. You can read more about it’s uses on the Dr.PAWPAW website!

Because of it’s flexibility, this product is definitely a handbag staple for any beauty lover. It’s even a favourite of Emma Watson, so you know you can’t go wrong. Also, it’s really affordable, (Less than £10,) so you can’t go wrong giving this product a try!

Scrub Love – Active Charcoal Body Scrub

I have been wanting to try out one of these body scrubs for so long now. I have heard that the coffee scrubs are amazing, but I just never got round to buying them. Needless to say, I was over the moon when I saw this scrub in this month’s Glossy Box.

This product is great for detoxing because of it’s active charcoal ingredients. The charcoal helps absorb pollutant, impurities and bacteria that like to sit on our skin. Also, because this scrub contains avocado oil, its fatty acids and vitamin E help to keep your skin moisturised and nourished, even after a hefty scrub! The Aloe Vera Juice and Eucalyptus Oil help to soften and heal the skin. And, the French Green Clay helps to deeply cleanse and absorb even more toxins. That’s a lot of results for one product. Honestly, it’s everything you could possibly want out of a scrub. Let the summer body detoxes begin!

Caudalie – Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet

If your skin is feeling sensitive from the constant changes is temperature that keep hitting England. Or maybe you went a bit too hard with all that scrubbing! Caudelie is here to give your skin some light relief. This product has a lightweight gel/cream formula that’s rich in antioxidants, which help to calm and moisturise the skin.

This product feels absolutely beautiful on the skin. It’s meant for the face and neck, but honestly, it’s a great moisturiser for any sensitive areas. It sinks into the skin immediately and doesn’t leave any tackiness, so it’s ideal to use before applying your makeup. Also, it is completely unscented, meaning it will be suitable for even the most sensitive skin types.

Overall, I am actually really pleased with this month’s box. It contained a lot of products that I needed, and also quite a few that I have never tried before, which is always a bonus! I think that my two favourite products by far were the Ruby Blush and the Scrub Love Body Scrub.

What were your thoughts on this month’s box? Let me know your opinions on the products and which ones were your favourites down in the comments! Also, if you’ve used the Dr. PAWPAW balm and have any suggestions of uses that I have mentioned, I’d love to hear them.

As always, don’t forget to like this post if you enjoyed it, and also give it a pin to spread the love!
