It’s that time of the month again! I swear now I have started doing monthly goals time has sped up so much!
I started doing these monthly goals in order to push myself into organising my life and getting the most out of my days, and it is working! However, mid-month I do tend to forget what I actually wanted to achieve. I think I probably need a physical reminder of my goals, not just a cyber one.
Despite the mid-month memory lapses, I actually think I did alright this month. Although I could have put more effort into certain goals, I made up for it by going over-board with others. In case you missed my goals from last month, you can check it out here!
Money Goals – Don’t Go Crazy on Holiday
So, my money goal in May was to organise a budget for myself, and organise my spending in general. And that is exactly what I did, (for once!) I even wrote a blog post to help you get started when creating your own budget, so make sure you check it out!
So this month, I’m going to be spending a bit more money than usual because I’m going on holiday! So it’s going to be tricky to set myself a definitive goal. Instead, I’m going to make sure I stick with my budget, with my goal being to not go crazy with the cash on holiday. In fact, I am going to aim to end the month with some money left over to put in my savings.
Studying Goals – Get Down and Dirty with my Dissertation
Last month, my studying goal was to start my reading for my final year. I got my reading lists for my modules and I have started reading my first book off the list (Jean Rhys, Good Morning, Midnight – in case you were wondering.) This is something I do want to continue every month, maybe by trying to get through a new book every two or three weeks. Although that may be a bit much to ask.
But, for the sake of variety, I also want to start getting down to the nitty gritty stuff with my dissertation. Obviously, I can’t start thinking about anything in too great detail until I have had the official okay from my tutor. But I’m going to crack on and think about themes and context anyway. I’ve been emailing some professors and have had some really helpful feedback – So it’s time to get serious!
If anyone has any tips for planning your dissertation, please get in touch! I suck at planning, so any help is greatly appreciated
Fitness Goals – Workout on a Regular Schedule
In May, I wanted to organise a weight based regime for myself. And although I did find some great weight exercises, I was by no means working out on a regular basis. So, in a last ditch chance to get my body beach ready, I am going to *attempt* to workout at least three times a week. And I know that is what healthy people should be doing anyway, but I literally have no excuse to put here. I’m just a naturally lazy person okay?
For so longbow I have been trying to get fit for my holiday, and I have just lazily watched the weeks pass by. I have tried to convince myself that dieting is like revising, you have to cram it into a short space of time. I doubt I’m right, but here’s hoping!
Blogging Goals – Make the Most out of my Holiday
I’m going to Croatia! I already have so many ideas for holiday related blog post ideas, but I also want to try and push myself to use this opportunity to do something a bit different. Maybe a travel guide or a gallery of holiday snaps? We’ll see.
If anyone has any suggestions about holiday and travel blogging tips, then let me know down in the comments!
