Mother’s Day is coming up, and that means it’s time to celebrate the most special women in our lives! Although the presents are not what the whole day is about, they are a nice way to show your mum how much you love her, whether it’s something handmade or bought from a shop.
In this list I’ve tried to go for a variety of products to suit every budget, from the classic Mother’s Day gifts, to something a bit more out there.
1. A Foot Peeling Mask
I recently did a post reviewing Korean Foot Peeling Masks (you can read it here), and while I was writing I realised that it would be a great present. It could be a fun thing for you and your mum to do together, and at the end you’ll both have super silky feet! And the best part is they only cost £7.00 on Beauty Bay!
Okay, so this is one of my classic presents to buy for my mum. She is just obsessed with slippers, which makes complete sense because they are cosy and wonderful. They are also always a winning gift idea, especially if you invest in a nice pair.
For years now I have bought my mum slippers from Moshulu, they are warm, comfy, incredible quality and they have the cutest designs. My mum and I both currently own the Denise 2 in Fuchsia which are my favourite ones yet! Make sure you have a look on their website because they have loads of different designs with prices ranging from £8 to £35!
3. Beauty Box Subscription
It’s the gift that keeps on giving. You are really spoilt for choice when choosing the right beauty box, but my favourites are Glossy Box and Birch Box. They both have 3 month gift plans for around £30 (not including postage and packaging). And, as a special Mother’s Day treat, Glossy Box has 10% off their gift plans.
Honestly, I think this is such a great gift idea if your mum loves a bit of pampering. Also, it’s like a 3 month-long surprise! So if you want to get in your mum’s good books for a while, this is the gift I’d go for.
6. A Great Read
If your mum always has her nose in a book, then this is a safe bet. Cosmopolitan wrote a great article on the 4 best book gifts. And if you do a quick search on google there is probably loads of lists similar. But, I have a couple of my own suggestions. If you want to go for an inspiring read, then I would suggest Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Or, if you want to go with a safer bet, then Me Before You by Jojo Moyes is a classic page turner.
4. A Homemade Treat
If money is a bit tight at the moment, then never fear! I always find that if I can’t afford to buy my mum something extravagant, then taking the time and putting the effort into making something for her myself always puts a big ol’ smile on her face. Because, at the end of the day, it’s about showing your mum that you care, rather than about spending money.
A homemade card and a cake is always a classic combination. But there is loads more cute things you could do; a photo album of your favourite memories together, matching friendship bracelets, or even just making her dinner for once so she can put her feet up. The possibilities are endless!
But, if you are feeling particularly creative, then it’s probably time to take to Pinterest for some inspiration!
Hopefully if you’re stuck in a bit of a Mother’s Day rut then this list has helped you out a bit 🙂
