Spring Empties 2017 – Skincare, Haircare and Makeup

Personally, I love reading empties posts. And, recently I have been trying my hardest to actually use up my products before I buy new ones. I’ve been especially wanting to get through the mountains of samples I seem to have. Honestly, I tried some really amazing products this spring, and there were some ones I knew I would be repurchasing straight away.

Skincare Empties

No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes

I try to act like I’m not the kind of person who uses makeup wipes. Honestly, I know they are not the best for my skin, which is prone to dryness anyway. However, sometimes after a long day, or after a heavy night out, you just can’t be bothered to double cleanse. And that’s okay.

I only bought these because I had a N07 voucher. Usually they are £7, which I think is outrageous for makeup wipes. But, that being said, they are probably the best makeup wipes I have used so far. They are suitable for all skin types, and are even hypo-allergenic. I didn’t have any trouble with these wipes drying out in the packet and my face would even feel kind of clean after using them!

Honestly, I probably would buy these again if I had another voucher, but there is no way I would pay the full retail price for them.

Boots Tea Tree and Witchhazel Foaming Face Wash

Honestly, I’m still unsure about this product. The face wash comes in a pump bottle, so that when you pump out the face wash it comes ready in foam form. This face wash did feel very cleansing, and I think it did help keep any spots and blemishes at bay. However, it did seem to dry out my skin a little bit.

I won’t be buying this product again, but I would recommend it for anyone with oily or acne prone skin. It is a great price and works really well at keeping your skin clear. The reason I won’t be repurchasing this product is because I have started using the Body Shop Drops of Light Cleansing Foam, which thoroughly cleanses my skin, without drying it out.

L’oreal Extraordinary Oil Facial Cleansing Oil

I have actually mentioned this product in my post about Essential Facial Oils for Every Skin Type. This must be my fourth bottle of this cleansing oil, and I have already replaced it. So I think it’s safe to say that I love this product. This is a really great way to remove your makeup everyday, it even removes waterproof mascara. Also, it’s very nourishing for the skin.

I would be interested in trying some higher end cleansing oils, but at the moment, I feel no need to stray from this product. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Skyn Icelandic Relief Eye Cream

This is not a product that I will be repurchasing. I’m not sure if it’s because I had a tester version of the product, but the texture of the eye cream seemed really wrong to me. First of all, it is extremely clumpy, making it quite difficult to distribute it over your eyes without pulling the skin around them too much. I even tried massaging the clumps between my fingers before applying it to my eyes, but often it would just fall off my fingers, which is such a waste of product.

Once this eye cream was actually applied it felt lovely. However, it’s not worth the nightmare of actually applying it.

Green Keratin Rosaforte Magnificent Moisture Cream

I genuinely think this is the first time I have finished so many products! If you love rose scented products then you will love this face-cream. It’s actually meant to be most effective on more mature skin, as it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. But I found that it was perfect to use on hunger skin as a super luxurious night cream. I really loved this cream, and I have been getting into more organic products recently. I feel like I really notice the difference in the quality of my skin when I use organic products even though I didn’t expect to! So I am definitely looking forward to trying some more out.

Bodycare Empties

L’occitaine Almond Shower Oil

You hear loads of people talking about this shower oil for a reason. Now, I don’t think it’s any secret that I am an oil lover, I mean I have written posts about hair and face oils. But shower oils aren’t really a realm of the beauty world that I have explored in depth. This is the first shower oil I have ever used, and it definitely opened the doors for me wanting to try out similar products. It felt like a full on pamper session every time I used this in the shower. The smell is incredible, and when you massage it into the skin it transforms into a thick foam consistency. Your skin is left feeling extremely soft and is definitely a product I would repurchase!

Rituals of Sakura Body Cream

This is another really luxurious product. If you’re in the market for a thick, lovely scented body cream, then I would definitely recommend anything from Rituals. Their products also make amazing gifts because it feels like a trip to the spa whenever you use any of their products. I actually already have the full size version of this cream and I’m still loving it.

Haircare Empties

Living Proof Restore Instant Repair

Love love love this product. I’ve only recently gotten into using a few more products in my hair. And this has completely changed the game for me because it’s helped me realise that certain products can tame my frizz without weighing down my locks. This cream is great if you colour your hair, or even if it’s just a little damaged. It helps repair and prevent split ends, as well as keeping your hair looking nice and shiny! I will definitely be buying the full-size version of this product!

Phillip Kingsley Perfecting Spray

This is a great spray to use before blow drying or styling your hair. This product acts as a primer for your hair before styling, making it smooth, while adding nourishment and shine. Honestly though, the full-size version of this product is around £19, and I’m not convinced that it is worth spending that amount of money on this type of product. I actually think there are things on the market that are very similar for a much more reasonable price. But, I love the concept of this product, so i’m definitely in the market for something similar to protect my hair from heat damage.

Makeup Empties

This Works In Transit Camera Close Up

I have talked about this product in a my March Favourites post and my  Essential Makeup for Busy Days post.

You can read an in depth review in those posts. But, in summary, I am obsessed with this product. It just does so much for one product! It acts as a mask, moisturiser, and a primer all in one. So, even though the full-size product is £30, you are getting a lot for your money. In an ideal world, I could be able to justify buying the full-size version. But, I can’t. But if I wanted to treat myself, this would definitely be at the top of my list!

L’oreal Brow Artist Xpert

This is a really great drugstore brow product. The colours aren’t too orangey, and the formula is really buttery and can be blended really nicely to look natural. The only criticism I would have would be the shape of the pencil, it’s quite thick, making it tricky to create natural, hair-like strokes. But honestly, that isn’t a deal breaker for me. I have recently repurchased this in a slightly lighter colour, as they have expanded their range. It’s definitely a product I would recommend!

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour

I have said it before, and I’ll say it again, this brow product is the bane of my life. The colour is my perfect brow colour, and to be honest I love everything about the product; the formula, the application. Everything about it is amazing. But it runs out so quickly. And it isn’t cheap either, I keep finding that I’m forking out £16 a month just on this one product. It is the least economical thing on the planet for me to keep buying these. But I do, because I can’t help myself. So, if anyone knows a brow product that is a similar colour to this please let me know down in the comments! Or, you know, if Stila wants to hook me up with a lifetime supply, then that would be cool too.
